What is a decent to good clarity for a yellow/canary diamond engagement ring?
Question by TheTruthHurts: What is a decent to good clarity for a yellow/canary diamond engagement ring?
I know a bit about the 4C’s of diamonds but what I’m unsure about is how they apply when considering a colored diamond. Can anyone help me determine what sort of clarity I should look for when searching for a yellow diamond ring?

I am not 100% sure on this but I would say the clarity would remain the same regardless of the color. So let’s say the color is yellow, it should still have the same clarity of color instead of murky. You could still see inclusions in a yellow diamond.
VS would be perfect. S1 or 2 is good. I wouldn’t get anything with Inclusions. I1, I2, and especially I3 would all be visible to the naked eye.

The Canary Diamond ‘term’ was coined by Tiffany. It is a vivid vivid yellow diamond. The next level down is an intense yellow diamond. Both of these in colors will change the price dramatically as there are very few vivid vivid yellow diamonds. For clarity look for ‘eye clean’. The definition of eye clean is no inclusions visible with the naked eye from 8 to 10 inches.
Good Luck!
