well… you could just start designing and creating your own little jewelry.
once you are proud and feel like your jewelry is the best you can do, start SELLING it! if you do not want to go around the neighborhood, then start in a mall or a different part of town where more “rich” people are.
price your jewelry accordingly, and make sure your jewelry is open to all age groups. you’ll sure to make some profit with your sales! good luck!

In San Francisco there is a school called the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts.
There are probably classes elsewhere, but I know that school. I took a class on colored gemstones and was impressed.
I am just interested in jewelry, but the classes are also for professionals or people who want to become professionals.
there are jewelry design classes at art schools and art department of many universities. you can also join jewelry design networking group online and offline.
the best way to start is by doing. learn to brainstorm your idea and convert it into diagrams. so just start drawing…
The best place to start is by taking courses at the GIA – Gemological Trade Association. The offer many courses including jewelry designing and even offer multiple degrees in the jewelry trade.
I would recommend starting by learning the basics about diamonds and colored gemstones. Having a good understanding of gemstones will help you decide which stones work for what types of jewelry.
Second, I would do some internships under other designers and jewelry companies so you can learn the practical side of the jewelry industry. This includes learning about pricing, networking with suppliers and selling to customers.
Remember, taking classes isn’t enough to survive as a jewelry designer. I would take classes and do an internship at the same time:)
