well i guess it depends how you view things. i saw it as, all men want is to have sex; and she knows that, so i think the whole point is that men love you only for a while or whenever they feel like it. And when they guy leaves u or w/e you’ll at least have diamonds. so it’s like don’t please a guy if you know he’s really not gonna be with you forever like they always say but the diamonds will be with you forever.

I have always loved the lyrics to this song and marilyn does a great job with expressing every word she sings with her entire body especially her hands!
I´ve never been a fan of MM. She´s sexy, brilliant and funny but she keeps repeating the same role in all her films. Other actresses of her time are prettier, more talented and have more charm. I hope women nowadays aspire to something more than finding a rich man who buys them diamonds. Money and sex will always rule this world, that´s the meaning of the song.
