Diamondback is Kings Island’s newest coaster, set to debut in April 2009. The ride reaches a height of 230 feet and a top speed of 80mph on its 5282 foot long track. The million dollar Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster is Kings Island’s largest single investment since its opening in 1972. Diamondback utilizes Bolliger & Mabillard’s new hyper train style, currently in use on only one other coaster (Behemoth at Canada’s Wonderland) and will be the first hyper coaster to feature a splashdown. Bolliger & Mabillard is recognized as the leader in high quality roller coasters, having 20/50 steel roller coasters on the Amusement Today Top 50 Steel Roller Coasters list, more than any other manufacturer. Me and my cuzin Lesly went to my brother in laws company pic nic @ Kings Island on june 19th, 2010, and I took my FLIP camera and recorded from the front of DIAMOND BACK one of the best videos ever to come from a top rated coaster!!!!
